Select a surface or ray, then use the visible ⋯ menu for actionsRay directions and scale
The marginal ray starts on axis; the chief ray represents the requested field and passes through the aperture-stop center. They describe different object points. The blue reverse reference starts at image-space infinity and finds the front focus, independently of the object.
Drag a surface to change its preceding gap, or a selected aperture handle to change its semi-diameter. Small, slow motions are finer; longer, faster motions increase sensitivity. Hold Shift for tenfold precision. Release to apply one edit; Escape or a canceled pointer restores the starting value. Use arrow keys on a focused surface or aperture, or double-click a surface for numeric entry.
Axial and height scales differ in this schematic. The pixel angle is not the physical angle. Incident chief slope u = 0.087489; angle = 5°.
True y–n·u brick diagram
Each ray has a surface-height row and a following-space n·u row. Input cells change the prescription; dashed cells solve a named input.Two-element classroom lens · Brick sheet
Part 1 of 4 · OBJ to STO · lengths in row units; n·u is a reduced angle
Solid / ✎ manual input · plain / ƒ calculated · dashed / ↶ inverse solve. Overlapping boundary surfaces continue the next space.
Reverse front-focus height is a reference in the OBJ column, not the finite object plane. Generated locally by Bricklab.
